7th – 9th December – Christmas on Ice
Even though Selborne Golf Estate is in the southern hemisphere, there is a way to experience a little of the magic a northern hemisphere Christmas. The Galleria Mall in Amazimtoti, half an hour away, is hosting their Magical Extravaganza on Ice. For every ticket bought for the Ice show, you will receive a free entry ticket for the ice rink to be used at a later date. The 60 member Clermont choir will also be carolling from midday to midnight on the 7th in the mall.12th and 19th December - Mardi Gras
Mardi gras is all about the music, colourful street parties and fun, fun, fun. The Mardi Gras Flea Market on Margate Main Street, has a South Coast flavour which is definitely worth the 40 minute drive from Selborne Golf Estate. The street is closed from 6pm to 10pm and filled with crazy costumes, excited children, dancing and jazzed up fun. Food, drink, crafts, and clothing are among the wares sold at the stalls lining the street with local retailers extending their shopping hours.15th December – South Coast Carnival
A 40 minute drive from your Selborne Golf Estate accommodation takes you to the inaugural South Coast Carnival from Shelly Beach to St. Michael’s on Sea. For music and fun lovers, the Carnival Parade will consist of multiple cultural groups. This will be followed by live music, a kids’ zone and a Braai Festival, with shisa nyama outlets, to keep everyone entertained and fed. The event is expected to attract young and old of all colours and cultures with its vibe. (Booking is through computicket.)15th and 18th December – Beach Sports
You don’t have to be the sporty type to enjoy sports on the beach. The Clover Big Beach Sports Tour offers beach volleyball, touch rugby, beach golf, cricket and badminton. This is a fun day for the whole family, taking place at Southport Beach, just 30 minutes away from Selborne Golf Estate. And if sports really aren’t your thing - you can always be a spectator, cheering the players on from the sandy side-lines.23rd December – Carols by Candlelight
Christmas is not the same without carols by candlelight. Scottburgh Main Beach is the setting for singing and celebrating together. This is a community event organised by local churches and sponsored by the Scottburgh Rotary club. Starting at 19h00, this is just around the corner from Selborne Golf Estate.31st December – New Year’s Eve
