Barcelona: A Loud Untold

On my second night at the hostel, I met two guys from Germany, who happened to be my Roommates for the rest of my stay in Barcelona. During the mandatory banalités, one of the German guys out of nowhere asked me if I snore. I kind of feel it was an unnecessary question, but I didn't take offense from it. Instead, I explained my case as truthfully and frankly as it should, told him I wasn't for most of the time but I do snore on a few occasions, especially when ln I'm too tired. He let out a sigh of relief telling me how bad it was for him to snatch some sleep in the past nights. He further went on, telling me how things went too south in his previous hostel, having roommates who were either snoring or smells bad or both. I jokingly said it was his lucky day, and assured him that I regularly take showers and that there is a slim chance I would be snoring since I'm well rested during those days so he could later sleep in peace. And a good night's rest it is, at least for him, indeed.

But as soon as the lights were out and the curtains were closed, came the night-long concert performance that ensued like a beast. The two of them, german dudes, battled it out with their pretty wide vocal ranges; one whistling in the highest of high notes and the other hitting the lowest of the lows, in annoying punches and broken harmonies. Snore gods be damned, I would have appreciated it if I was given a little heads-up instead of the unnecessary accusing fingers.

After hours of enduring the unnecessary noise fest, their deafening music were eventually diluted by the loudness of thoughts in my head desperately screaming for sleep. Long story short, I rain on their parade. This isn't meant to be a complaint, for I knew the risk, and having snoring roommates is an inevitable part of the package.
