Anıtkabir, İsmet İnönü’s, the second president. So much for the history behind the place, the entire architecture wonder is a sight to behold, which warrants a Photo walk.
Hall of Honor. Being the location of Ataturk’s tomb, probably this is the most iconic structure in Anıtkabir, measuring a staggering 42m × 57m × 17mm. Atatürk's tomb is located under the symbolic 40-ton sarcophagus in an octagonal room with pyramidal ceiling inlaid with gold mosaics in Seljuk and Ottoman architectural styles.
Tomb of İsmet İnönü. Facing opposite the ceremonial ground.
Road of Lions. This is a 262m walkway leading to the monument with twelve pairs of Hittite-style lions on the sides, symbolizing the 24 Oghuz Turkic Tribes, in peace and power.
Ceremonial Guards. Not sure about the ceremonial turnover schedules but Anitkabir guards do shifts, of course.
