The world is just FULL of beautiful places and wonderful things to see and do. And right now Instagram is one of the most popular platforms for sharing those unforgettable moments. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to share some of the wonderful Instagram Worthy Destinations I’ve seen. Maybe you could find somewhere you could beef up your Insta game!
After a few years of decent travel destinations, what are Rachel On Route’s most Instagram worthy destinations so far?

Europe
Austria Lake District + Salzburg, Austria
The Austrian mountains and lakes really have to be seen to be believed. If you can tear yourself away from the delightful city of Salzburg and make it to the Lake District, you really won’t be disappointed.
Berlin, Germany
One of the cooler and hipper destinations I’ve travelled to in recent years – Berlin was a revelation of history, culture and beautiful architecture. This is one city I would LOVE to return to.
Sevilla, Spain + Spanish Islands
Not only is mainland Spain a joy to experience, but I’ve also enjoyed the wonderful Spanish Islands (I’ve so far managed Fuerteventura and Majorca. I’m heading out to Ibiza next week for my first foray! Earlier this year I visited Sevilla, and I’ve got a whole host of photos to share on Instagram. (They need some work though, so work in progress!)
Tuscany, Italy
Italy was one of my first picks for a European trip and boy it didn’t disappoint. We headed off for a week long trip to Pisa, and threw in some day trips to Florence and Lucca, all of which are delightful and thoroughly Insta worthy!
Scottish Highlands, UK
So this one might come as a surprise entry – but when we pottered up to Scotland for a little break last year I was astounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Highlands. I also loved that at the time of year (May) we largely had the place to ourselves. It was blissfully quiet and relaxing. Perfect for feeling like an explorer!
Southern Norway
I stayed for a few days in the beautiful city of Oslo, where the city glowed in a wonderfully winter vibe. I then had the pleasure of taking a train across the country to Bergen, through the countries mountains and goodness me, the views!
Australasia
New Zealand
As you probably already know – I spent a heavenly year backpacking in and around New Zealand on a Working Holiday and I think its safe to say it’s one of the most Instagram Worthy countries I’ve ever seen. Ladies and gentleman, I give you exhibit A, B, C, D, E and F!
North America
Vancouver, Canada
On our first Working Holiday in 2013 (and the year I started my Instagram account!) we discovered Vancouver and the beautiful surrounding area. I highly recommend both the city and the rural hikes surrounding it for a breath of fresh air!
Niagara Falls (Canada/US)
Before we headed back to the UK from that side of the world, we also got the chance to visit the wonderful Niagara region, and see the famous Falls! we also got to explore the area a little bit, seeing Niagara on the Lake, and spent an overwhelming day checking out Toronto!
These are just a few of the amazing places I have discovered so far. With so many stunning locations around the world there are so many other options, and my ‘bucket’ list just keeps getting longer and longer! After our next big adventure back in Canada my hit list, at least a small portion of it, looks like this:
