SPRING BREAK IN NIAGARA FALLS

March Equinox (also called the spring or vernal equinox in the northern hemisphere) falls on March 20th and signals the end of winter in the Northern hemisphere and the start of spring. It is the time when the bleak landscape of winter gives way and mother nature ‘springs’ back to life!

Birds begin chirping, trees produce new leaves and spring flowers rise from the soil. As winter recedes, a number of businesses open up again in anticipation of tourists.

In Canada, this is also the time when schools have spring break holidays for a week or two. It is the perfect time to visit Niagara Falls with your family and friends.

Parents can take a break from work and plan a spring vacation or a short stay in Niagara Falls with their school-age kids. All the attractions are open in springtime, and there is so much to see and discover.

Come to see the beautiful landscaped gardens of Queen Victoria Park, Botanical Gardens, and Oakes Garden Theatre, which are in full bloom at this time.

The sight of over 500,000 daffodils in full bloom in Queen Victoria Park is absolutely stunning. Take a stroll to enjoy the rose gardens, carpet bedding plants, tulips, azaleas, etc. in all the parks and gardens in Niagara Falls.

The Floral Clock on Niagara Parkway will have a new face of over 16,000 springtime flowers.

With sunnier and warmer days, you know that spring is in the air. All business, tour providers and hotels await the arrival of visitors.

The Hornblower Boat Cruise starts its operations once again after the long winter (in the beginning of April). Purchase your tickets online or through a tour operator beforehand to avoid queues. Be prepared to get wet by the spray from Niagara Falls when you stand on the deck of the boat. As the boat travels up the Niagara River, enjoy the breathtaking views of Niagara Falls.

The Floral Showhouse will host the Annual Spring Show, a display of springtime flowers and plants, until April 5th.

Visit other attractions like Niagara Skywheel, Floral Clock which will have a new floral display, Journey Behind the Falls, and other attractions. There are indoor waterparks, nature reserves, museums, and theatres for your amusement.

Niagara-on-the-Lake with quaint shops and world famous wineries is a charming place to visit in springtime. The flower-lined streets of Niagara-on-the-Lake are beautiful to walk through.

Take a tour with ToNiagara and see all that Niagara has to offer. They provide free lanyards with their contact numbers to all customers, so anyone lost can be easily traced. This is especially appreciated by parents with young kids.
