Beach is bordered with coconut trees and the silvery white sands in the beach make it ideal for a leisure walk in the evening. 3. Alleppey Backwater Ride



Alleppey is known as  Venice of the East, it is famous for Nehru Trophy Boat Race that takes place in August in every year. A large number of tourist visit this place on this day. It is also famous for backwater ride on houseboats and it is top among the tourist destinations in Kerala. A houseboat trip in natural backwaters in Alleppey provides a chance to enjoy and observe fishing with netting, ducks in the water. After exploring the beach you can enjoy some thrilling activities on backwaters. The activities include surfing, swimming, parasailing, boat races, etc. The beach is also popular for houseboat holidays, coir industry and marine products. It is one of the highest tea plantations in the world.
The key tourist attraction in Munnar is the plantation for its flavored tea leaves.
Timing:  Open on all days except Sunday,  tea factory allow every visitors to taste different types of teas.
  • Wildlife sanctuaries
  • Eravikulam National Park, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, and Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary are  most visited and famous wildlife areas of Munnar

  • Eravikulam National Park
It is situated in the Kannan Devan hills.The park is popular for endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The forest spread an area of 97 sq km

  • Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary

It is located 60 km from Munnar.It is a habitat for many animals such as elephants, deer, and leopards.

  • Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

It is also known as Thekkady Bird Sanctuary and is about   73 km from Munnar.Local and migratory birds are spotted here.
Timing: open from 7 in the morning to 6 in the evening.

  • Shikara ride in Kundala Lake

Kundala dam is Asia’s first  artificial arch dam.You can spot the rare Neelakurinji flowers, which blossom once in 12 years in the hills and valleys of Kundala Lake.
