7. You’ll be close to some of the world’s best theme parks.

The iconic Disneyland is one of several amazing theme parks you can visit on an L.A. getaway. Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags are wonderful too, and so is Magic Mountain. And if you’re up for a drive, you can head down to Carlsbad and check out Legoland.

Even if the glitz and glamour of Beverly Hills and Hollywood doesn’t impress you, the surrounding natural beauty surely will. California’s scenic coastline is breathtaking, and you’ll find waterfalls, hidden caves, tranquil gardens, shimmering lakes and inviting hiking trails all around you. There are even some natural escapes that are right there in the city, such as Griffith Park and Runyon Canyon.

10. There is a good possibility that you’ll see a celebrity.

Seeing celebrities in person may or may not impress you.
