I’ve got a pile of emails to deal with, RAW image files to process, articles to write, the house is a mess, and I’ve got this nagging feeling I’ve forgotten to add stuff to the calendar. But screw it, I’m taking a Pavlova break from it all…
The pavlova is not a Portuguese dessert, but where it originated is up for debate: the Australians and New Zealanders both claim its theirs.
I bought these at Miss Pavlova in the Mercado Beira-Rio in Vila Nova de Gaia, a market that was refurbished to its current incarnation and opened last month. Miss Pavlova is located at the bottom of Rua da Almada in Porto, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to pick some new flavours while I was at the Mercado.
Food is always the best excuse for a break. (Right, Helma?)
