Did Jesus Christ Visit The Fort Jesus In Kenya

 Fort Jesus is one of the world’s Best tourist sites. It borders the East Africa’s Indian Ocean along the coast of Kenya in Mombasa. Fort Jesus has won different awards as the best Tourist sites in the World. Most People tend to think Jesus Christ From the Bible once visited the area So as to be named after Him.

 But the fact remains Jesus Christ never visited The East African Coast.

Fort Jesus was built by the Portuguese in the early 16 century, to act as a Watching view for their enemies before they arrive too close to them, they built very big strong structures along the Coast line in order to hide and watch ships before it arrives.

 By the order of King Phillips 1 of Portugal, Fort Jesus was contracted to guard the old port of Mombasa. Different Groups where interested in capturing the Mombasa port including the Sultan and the British.

Later on the Fort Jesus was Captured by the British once they colonised Kenya. The British went ahead and made the Fort a prison, they modified the structures and made it difficult for prisoners to escape. The prisoners where not able to escape since the structure was so close to the ocean.

Today Fort Jesus is celebrated World wide for the beautiful Memory and historical features present in the area. The Fort is now protected by the Government of Kenya as one of its Historical sites and it attract a lots of tourist.
