4 Days in Las Vegas Under $400

Accommodations: $92.21

I got the BEST deal on my room this time around in Vegas.  I spent $92.21 total for four nights at Excalibur.  Excalibur isn’t exactly my favorite place to stay but it is definitely budget friendly and our room was upgraded two times before we even got to Vegas.  So, how did I get this deal on my room you ask?  I signed up for Mlife the last time I was in Vegas and ended up getting comp rooms for three nights after only gambling $60 on my previous stay.  Comp rooms are great but typically you still have to pay something if you stay on a weekend and I am a hoarder of my PTO so I almost always travel on weekends.  I shared my room with one other person and it was $38.05 per person per night.  I felt like that was a pretty good deal and I put everything on my AMEX card and realized when I got back that I earned $60 cash back if I spent $300 with MGM so that just brought my room down to $92.21!  If you know you will be going back to Vegas soon or gambling a lot while you’re there, then I highly recommend signing up for Mlife.  At the end of your trip, you can go to the Mlife desk and see if you’ve earned any points to deduct charges from your room bill.  If you don’t think you’ll be going back to Vegas soon or gambling much then my go-to is always Hotwire or Airbnb.  Use this link to sign up for Airbnb and you’ll receive $40 in travel credit.  I always compare prices between these two, because those are the lowest rates I’ve ever gotten on hotel rooms.  If you really want to double or triple dip, then use Ebates to go to Hotwire and earn cash back and get a great deal.

Food: $143.0

  • Breakfast:  Our breakfast was free every day because we redeemed Starbucks rewards through MyVegas.  If you aren’t familiar with MyVegas then you definitely need to read my post here and find out how to get free things in Las Vegas.  The reward we redeemed was “2 for 1 Starbucks” at Luxor but really that is just a $15 voucher to use at Starbucks so that covered our morning coffee and breakfast.
  • Nacho Daddy – I had Nacho Daddy one night when we went to Freemont Street and these were the best nachos that I’ve ever had.  I should first say that I don’t typically like nachos because it’s basically just like eating tortilla chips because the toppings are only on the top layer.  FALSE.  This place is known for its nachos and it says on the menu that every chip will be covered and they aren’t kidding. I spent $21.94 here and that including a tip.  I would highly recommend splitting this with one other person because you won’t eat it all and nacho leftovers aren’t great.  Splitting food is also a great way to be kind to your wallet.
  • Ceasar’s Brunch Buffett – We found a Groupon for “All-You-Can-Eat Brunch Buffet for Two, with Two Mimosas or Draft Beers, and Two VIP Line Passes” for $88.  If you plan on eating here then check Groupon because I think they almost always have this available.  This Groupon was worth it just to skip the ridiculous brunch line.  I don’t typically eat enough to eat at a buffet but this is definitely one to eat at if you can eat a lot!  I think I probably got my money’s worth from the mimosas alone, our server didn’t keep track of how many we had and just kept asking if we wanted refills so naturally, we said yes.
  • Breakfast & Burgers – This is just inside the food court at Excalibur and I ate there on the first night because I couldn’t find the energy to go anywhere else.  I was actually surprised that my burger and fries were decent and it was only $10.80.
  • Hard Rock Cafe – We went to Hard Rock for lunch one day and we were blessed with a great server that let me order off of the kid’s menu. It was crazy hot and I really didn’t want to carry around a box of leftovers so ordering from the kid’s menu was a blessing for sure and it was WAY cheaper.  I spent $18.71 including a tip and splitting an appetizer and everyone else spent well over $35.
  • Dunkin Donuts – This was just a pit stop to fuel my exploration of Freemont Street.  $5.93 for a small latte and a sugar-filled donut.
  • Shake Shack – If you’re looking for a cheap good meal then you need to go to Shake Shack.  I had a really good burger and cheese fries for $10.70.  That’s one of the cheapest meals that I’ve had in Vegas and they actually have cheaper options than what I ordered.
  • Pieology – I don’t know why it took me so long to discover this place but it’s going to be stable for all of my future Vegas trips.  These are custom-made pizzas with as many toppings as you want for one price.  After-tax, my pizza was $14.93 and I really should’ve split it with one other person because I had it for breakfast, lunch, and breakfast again.
  • Late Night Pizza –  $7.38. So I don’t actually remember where I bought this because I had been drinking but it was expensive and I wouldn’t recommend paying this much for ONE slice of pizza.

Drinks: $32.66

I typically would not recommend buying expensive touristy drinks but it was 115 degrees and I absolutely needed a frozen pina colada.  We were close enough to walk to Fat Tuesdays on the strip and I ended up buying two souvenir glasses and which made all of my refills cheaper.  I did get one refill inside a casino and It wasn’t nearly as good as the one from Fat Tuesdays so I would recommend the walk to Fat Tuesday and they have a lot more flavors.

Entertainment: $81.26

The last time I was in Vegas I didn’t see a show and I had my eyes on Zumanity by Cirque De Solei and told myself that the next time I go to Vegas I will see it!  This show was amazing!  We bought seats closer to the stage and I would only recommend this if you don’t mind the risk of being pulled up on stage.  This show is definitely for adults and you will see some nudity if you pulled up on stage… there will be some touching and grinding so be prepared.
