Most Unique Airbnb in Sedona: Cave on the Creek

Entire place | From $241 per night | Accommodates 4 guests | Located in Rimrock

This ancient cave (native American Indians lived here about 600 years ago) is one of the most unique experiences (with a touch of adventure) you can ever have in Sedona.

Sleeping in a hidden rugged cave with the sound of a rivulet flowing peacefully and wilderness all around is not your regular experience, of course! The cave is cooler in the summer months and warmer in the winter months.

As far as location goes, this is pretty remote. But hey, that’s pretty obvious as you choose a stay in the wilderness.

Please note that you need a basic level of fitness and athletic shoes to reach the cave as you will be walking or rather hiking down a rough dirt trail. And you’d need an all-terrain vehicle to get to the place.

This Airbnb isn’t recommended for infants (0 to 2 years) as it lacks the basic amenities you’d want when you travel with young kids. Overall, If camping or glamping in Sedona is what you seek, this is perfect for you!

What the guests have to say: The cave is definitely a unique experience. My family and I had a very nice time. We went in early September when it was about 107 degrees when we checked in but it felt cooler because of the trees and it started cooling down later. The cave got a bit cold at night so that was nice. Dan also offers a private room with a bathroom at his home to use anytime or in case you change your mind and don’t want to sleep in the cave. The bedsheets, covers, and cave are nice and clean. Dan is very nice and makes sure you stay safe and have a great time. My family and I will definitely go again.”

What the guests have to say: What a wonderful space. Our family had an amazing time together (with no WiFi or cell service which made it perfect) we enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinners as they had everything we needed plus a nice touch of a bottle of wine to enjoy. The road getting there is not perfectly graded concrete, in fact it’s very bumpy and a little nerve-wracking; I personally recommend a capable 4×4 to get there although I saw people getting up the road with less. The massage chair pod comes highly recommended, the heated blanket came in really nice as it had started to get cool at night, the shower bathroom and views were all very timely and I enjoyed talking with the other guests. Extremely unique experience, highly recommended! Another can’t miss is the Thai restaurant at the bottom of the mountain in town which also came recommended by Dan.”
