As per Vishnu Purana, Lord Venkateswara has been born to eradicate the evil in Kaliyuga. Due to the fight against the bad, the protective shield gets depleted. To restore the power of the Armor of the God, a special type of Tirumanjanam (Holy bath) is performed every year to the deities of Lord Malayappa Swami and his wives Sridevi and Bhudevi.
