Poem: So much remains

Tags: remains poem

So much remains

It mounts on the seashore
Forms crusts in cave arks you cannot see
It does not disappear with time
Like the elders promised

It lives in the water
A baptism of paper cuts
Separating you from your skin
With every breathing wave

You are losing yourself
In the folding water
The deepness of it muffles your voice
Honours you with lazy bubbles
Brewing at the surface

For stillness, for pure water
You nightly pray
I hear each word

So much remains
