12 Instagrammable cafes in Hong Kong

After moving to Hong Kong it didn’t take me long to realize the city has a passion for good coffee. This fact made me not only happy but set me off to explore and discover some of the most Instagrammable cafes in Hong Kong

I wasn’t only looking for pretty spaces, but also delicious Coffee to go along. A few months later, I met Becky from Becky Exploring and we started having our weekly Friday lunch and coffee when we would try a new coffee place every week.

Even though when it comes to the taste and quality of the coffee I definitely have my favorite one, which might not also be the prettiest cafe in Hong Kong.

Thus, without further ado, let’s get exploring coffee shops in Hong Kong.

12 Instagrammable cafes in Hong Kong

% Arabica

With more than one branch in Hong Kong, choosing the best location for your pictures might prove to be a bit of a challenge.

In my opinion, the one in Kowloon right next to the ferry pier, on the Avenue of Stars might steal the top of the list. However, there’s a small one in the Monster Mansion that will offer you the chance to see a pretty cafe, drink a good coffee, and tick off your list one of the most Instagrammable places in town.

Even though the coffee at %Arabica is not one of my favorites, I still think this place should be on any list if we talk about coffee or pretty cafes.

See here all the locations in town and choose your favorite one.

NOC Cofee

My all-time favorite coffee in Hong Kong! And it comes in a cozy, Instagrammable cafe.

I still haven’t been to all the locations in town, but I’ve been to 3 of them, and while all are pretty and will offer a great setting for a picture, the one in Mercury Street might be the best.

They keep their design simple, with clear lines, tones of grey and white.

Make sure to come in early if you want to have the place to yourself because it usually gets crowded. They open at 8 AM so you can start your day right.

The Coffee Academics

One of the first cafes in Hong Kong I have visited, mainly because it caught my eye while I was walking near my husband’s office in Quarry Bay.

Their design is super nice in all their locations, and they serve also food throughout the day, and cocktails once evening comes.

Try the location in Musea or go to Wan Chai for some delicious breakfast!

Doubleshot by the Cupping Room

A new place in town, or at least for me, this is the latest addition to my list of coffee shops in Hong Kong.

Perfectly set in Central, on Hollywood Road, on the first floor of a small building this place will charm you not only with its interior but also with the window view.

There’s no wonder the place was packed on a Friday afternoon when we visited. The places by the window are the most popular because they offer the perfect setting for a picture: natural light, popular graffiti on the background, and delicious food and coffee in the center stage.

Their menu offers a lot of wines and cocktails as well if you are looking for an afternoon or evening cup.

Elephant Grounds

A popular spot for brunch in Hong Kong, this is a place I go to frequently because of its location close to home.

No matter which shop you’ll choose to visit, you won’t be disappointed – the coffee is good, they are dog friendly (at least at the one in Causeway Bay where they have an outside terrace), and they have delicious options for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

Their design is simple yet with plenty of picture-perfect corners – from the pretty tables that offer a great background for your cup to the natural walls or plants in all their shops.

Winstons coffee

One of the most Instagrammable places in Hong Kong I was following since before I actually moved here. Everyone goes to Winstons for that picture, but I’ve realized they go also for the coffee – because I really liked it.

Set in Kennedy Town, packed with expats, but also locals alike, this place is a must-try.

Just one note: those chairs might look pretty cool and are perfect for a picture, but I almost fell off the narrow stair twice. So be careful! Especially if you choose to skip the coffee and go for a cocktail.

N.O.T Specialty Coffee

With 2 locations close to one another, one in Lee Garden One and the other in Hysan Place, this is any photographer’s dream.

Even though I absolutely love all the pictures I’ve seen from here, I don’t understand why it is not as popular as the other coffee shops on this list. Or at least I haven’t seen it as much on my feed.

And I’m still guilty of not reaching this place yet, however, I will get there very soon for sure.

They serve coffee in some of the prettiest cups you’ll find in town. This small shop is tucked away on a very picturesque street with antiquities, so you might get the chance to buy these pretty cups for home.

Climb the stairs from the MTR station, get lost between colorful tea sets, precious jade pieces, and whatnot, and stop here for a coffee and a picture.

The coffee shop was always filled with people no matter when I passed by it, thus I still haven’t managed to try the coffee itself.

Another pretty yet simple coffee place on the stairs in Sheung Wan. What makes it special apart from the delicious coffee, is the cat you might see if you’re lucky.

She will help you capture the best picture while savoring a strong coffee.

Another brand new cafe in Hong Kong with a sleek clean design located in Kowloon. I still need to explore this place but I can say from the pictures I’ve seen online, that this is easily one of the most Instagrammable cafes around.

One cannot keep track of all the cool coffee places that keep on opening around town. And the Sonne CAD in Tin Hau is another one to put on the list, for both me and you all.
