Things to do in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai

If you are living in Dubai or just visiting, you must know that there are indeed a plethora of places to visit. However, all the attractions quite far from each other. A Dubai trip isn’t complete if you don’t pass by Madinat Jumeirah. This is a complex surrounded with beautiful hotels by Jumeirah and a modern souk with many shops, restaurants and entertainment for you couples and families. Not only you can spend a day there, it is best to stay at one of the gorgeous hotels to be able to maximize your time around the Madinat.

As a resident of the UAE, it is quite worthwhile to organize a weekend stay-cation and be able to rediscover this part of town like you have not seen before. Let’s start our list of things you must do at the Madinat Jumeirah.

1) Stay in a Jumeirah Hotel

The number one must! If you are in Dubai you must try the incredible hospitality by the local and prestigious hotel brand Jumeirah Hotels. All of their Madinat hotels are quite unique and have few design variations. In our case, we stayed at the beautiful Jumeirah Al Qasr which is the one that we go to often to eat at their amazing restaurant Pai Thai.

2) Take an Abra tour

If you stay with one of the Jumeirah Hotels your Abra tour will be complimentary all the time. This Abra tour is something you can’t miss to have a beautiful view of the Burj Al Arab for the perfect Instagram shot you keep seeing trending or on ads for Dubai Tourism! For people not staying in the Madinat, the price of a tour is 85 AED per adult and 50 AED per child. Tickets are available at the Souk Abra stations. Little trick, if you request to go eat at Pai Thai, you can get an Abra lift to there! Same does from the souk, you can request to get a lift back at one of the hotels, but they won’t stop at the photo spot though.

3) Enjoy the beach view of the Burj Al Arab

Exclusive to the hotel guests, the Madinat Jumeirah beach is one quite exciting to be having a tan at with the stunning premium view of the Burj Al Arab. There are few restaurants by the beach like Shimmers which we enjoyed so much having lunch there.

4) Get lost in the Souk Madinat

This souk isn’t overwhelming like the Dubai Mall. Here you can walk around not too much and still get lost in the windy alleys. The Souk Madinat also has many good food outlets that are licensed and its worth planning a dinner there at night! Best part is the distance as the Souk is on the same property as the whole set of Madinat Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts, so you won’t need to travel too far by foot.

5) Book a fancy dinner at Pierchic

One does not do Dubai properly if he or she doesn’t go experience the hospitality and food at the Pierchic restaurant! Rated among the top in Dubai (the most romantic thing you can do too!), this hot spot located at the end of the pier of the Madinat Jumeirah and is a must stop address!

6) Go to the water park: Wild Wadi

As a guest of any Jumeirah hotels around the Madinat, you will have free access to the water park Wild Wadi. Our favourite there must be the bodyboard. If you are not staying there, there are plenty of offers always running good for tourists and also residents of the UAE.

7) Get some adrenaline and sport fix

Truly a 360 spot, if you need to have your daily adrenaline you can go to Talise Fitness then unwind at the Talise Spa. If you like to get wet there are waterspouts are available, including what we like to recommend, an hour wake boarding session! If that is not enough adrenaline for you, get some tickets to the incredible longest urban zip-line in the world located in the Dubai Marina with XLine is a must. Dubai is indeed known for these quirky activities, so make sure to experience anything available by the XDubai Team when you are in town.
