A week and a half ago before my Seoul expedition, coming back from the paradise of Six Senses Con Dao with Laura, I almost booked my flights to South Korea so I can finally visit and spend some extra time with her.

I changed my mind and decided I would save money for whatever imaginary reason I could justify at the time.

Coming back to the apartment from Con Dao, Mitch greets both of us girls with 2 beautiful bouquets of flowers. He then tricks me and shows me a ticket HCMC-INCHEON. I couldn’t really understand. Mitch has decided to ship me to South Korea as an one year anniversary present.

So blessed to be with this thoughtful man. I love you Mitchie!

// Un peu plus d’une semaine avant ce voyage de Seoul, je revenais tout juste d’un voyage extraordinaire à Con Dao. Je voulais partir avec Laura en Corée du Sud afin de passer un peu plus de temps avec elle et d’enfin pouvoir visiter le pays.

À la dernière minute j’ai décidé de laisser faire et d’économiser un peu de sous, mais à mon retour de Con Dao, à ma grand surprise Mitch nous surprend avec deux gros bouquets de fleurs. C’est même pas tout, il décide de me niaiser en me disant qu’il a besoin de je prenne un scan d’un document pour lui avec mon iPhone… je cours dans le salon pour prendre la photo de la feuille … et ça m’a pris un bon bout avant de réaliser que.. c’était un billet aller-retour pour Seoul !

So the next morning I was off to Tan Son Nhat International Airport to head over South Korea. Laura left at 5AM and my flight was later at 11AM.

I landed around 9:45PM in Incheon and wait for Sookin and Laura to come pick me up.

First thing we did was to check-in this love hotel (haha really) and head over to Korean BBQ! It was a short night and we slept like babies.

I was lucky to have a lift, but what if you don’t? You have three options:

Bus: I took this to get to the airport. Incheon’s airport limousine bus service is comfortable and quick! Once you get off the plane, after getting your luggage, head to an information booth, the lady will give you bus options to get to your destination. The best though is to pre-plan you trip so you have an idea. No need to pre-book, you just pay as you hop in your bus. (It will cost 9,000W to 15,000W depending of the class you choose)

Airport Bus Numbers and Detailed Information

Train: The train is the cheapest and quickest way to the heart of Seoul, but I would not recommend it. Better to take the bus as it can be very annoying to carry your luggage around. There are two options also, one that is express (around 15$US) and the All Stop Train around 5$US.

Taxi: Don’t take it, but if you need to it’s going to cost you over 75$ to Seoul.

// Le lendemain matin suivant, mon vol était à 11. Je suis arrivée à Incheon vers 9:45PM. Il a fallût que j’attende les filles pendant plus d’une heure pour venir me chercher.

J’étais assez chanceuse d’avoir un lift, car habituellement c’est un peu fatiguant d’aller en ville comme c’est un peu loin. Il y a 3 options pour aller en ville:

Bus: C’est le meilleur moyen. J’ai pris le bus pour me rendre à l’aéroport (6009 pour la station Gangnam). Le service de bus limo est propre, rapide et tu n’as pas besoin de trainer tes bagages. Lorsque vous arrivez à l’aéroport, allez à une station d’information pour demander quel bus vous allez prendre. Ils parlent bien anglais, y devrait y avoir aucun problème! Le coût varie entre 9,000W à 15,000W qui est environ 9-15$US. Aussi, pas besoin de réserver en avance, il faut just payer à l’entrée du bus.

Train: C’est le moyen le moins cher et peut-être le plus rapide aussi pour se rendre en plein Seoul, mais je vous recommande de prendre le bus. En métro il faut trainer vos bagages et c’est très fatiguant. Pour le express ça coûte environ 15$US et pour le métro normal ça coûte autour de 5$US.

Taxi: Prenez juste pas le taxi. Ça va coûter au-dessus de 75$US pour se rendre au Centre-Ville de Seoul.

Suite à ça, il était déjà assez tard, comme minuit, donc nous avons check-in dans un “love hotel” et on est allées directement dans un Korean BBQ. Nous étions assez loin de Seoul donc on est pas sortie.

Thursday : Leaving Seoul.
I miss my bed & Mitch. It was time to go home. The perks of staying in Gangnam at Matt’s is the 6009 Limousine Bus to the Airport. It costs 15,000W (15$) and it starts running from around 4AM every 15-20 minutes. I waited 10 minutes in the cold and then I was good to head to the Incheon International Airport.

Was in the bus at 6:22AM, arrived and skipped the long check-in line because I only have a carry on, so by 7AM I was already lining up in the long line to get in security. My flight was at 8 :50AM, I didn’t get that early, but everything worked out pretty well!

I will miss you Seoul, but see you soon South Korea! Will have to come back to see more.

Mitch me manque, notre lit me manque, il était temps de quitter la Corée du Sud.

Mon vol étant à 8 :50AM, j’ai quand même pris le risque de n’être qu’en route qu’à 6 :22AM. Restant à Gangnam, il y a un bus (6009) qui est carrément devant chez Matt (ok à 200 mètres de marche). C’est super pratique et ça ne coute que 15,000W (15$US).

Vive Séoul, ça va me manquer énormément de chiller avec la gang et le fait que tout est disponible si j’en ai de besoin.
