Temples to go see in Bangkok: Wat Pho

There are many temples to visit in Bangkok and you obviously want to see them all. Discover more about Wat Pho and make up your Bangkok temple path for your next visit.

Wat Pho, also known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha is an essential place to visit if you are seeing Bangkok for the very first time. The most famous part of this complex is the reclining Buddha, a chance to see a 46 meters long Buddha in all its magnificence. It is super busy there so be prepared for the tourist rush you expect at popular places. You will also be given a robe if your attire isn’t conservative enough.

If you have a full day, we recommend that you visit Grand Palace first, then Wat Pho, then crossing the river on the boat to see Wat Arun for a magnificent sunset. There are some really cute eating spots around, so if you are not a fan of street food, try to Home Café for super local food and fast wifi.

There are a lot of cool spots in Wat Pho, although most people tend to congregate near the reclining Buddha. Try and find the colourful tall spiers which are great for a photo opportunity or the gardens where there are gold Buddha’s everywhere to sit and relax.
