Musings: Trying Out Mask Time – A Review

Please note, these masks were sent for my review.

This post has been a little delayed but the beauty of beauty content is that it will always be in season. If you know me well, you know I have a sheet mask obsession. I visited Hong Kong last November and I’m pretty sure my suitcase was filled to the brim with sheet masks upon departure. Since then they’ve run out and I was kindly sent the May Mask Time box to try and I was super excited. Sheet masks are easy to put on to unwind, get a little pampering in on a self care Sunday or Saturday and best of all there is no mess.

However, if you’re not familiar with what a sheet mask is, they’re exactly as they suggest… a sheet. They’re infused with all the good stuff to get your Skin feeling brighter, tighter and supple depending on your skin’s needs.

I was kindly sent the MAY Glow Starter Box from Mask Time which retails at £12.95 which is an absolute bargain if you ask me. Who said self care had to be expensive?

The May box was filled with 4 masks which you could implement over a month, take with you on a trip or just indulge in as a treat. The theme of the box was all about the GLOW in collaboration with Duft and Doft. Here’s a rundown of the mask and my thoughts!

Duft & Doft Pink Milk Mask ~ RRP £4.00

Get ready to get pinked! Duft & Doft’s new Pink Milk Mask provides brightening, anti-wrinkle and tone-up features for a dewy and shiny complexion like you’ve never seen before! Infused with pearl and milk protein extracts, this mask sticks to the contours of your face for an extremely comfortable fit (no slippage!) while feasting your skin with special pink essence nutrients. Ranked #1 as the top face mask in Korea (by Glowpick).

YOUR SKIN WLL LOVE:

PEARL – Brightens dull looking skin and provides anti-aging benefits

MILK – Lactic acid helps reduce dark spots, hydrates skin and heals acne!

My thoughts: I really loved this mask as I’d come back from Dubai in early June and London’s pollution had my skin feeling a little ‘meh’. With regular use I can imagine my dark spots gradually fading.

Duft & Doft Hydra Soother Deep Hydration Mask ~ RRP £4.00

Experience the ultimate in facial hydration technology with Duft & Doft’s Hydra Soother! Its deep moisturising and revitalising solution locks in the moisture into your skin for an instant rejuvenating effect. Made of light high-density hydra charge sheet that adheres to your face like a second skin!

Processed with VSCO with kp5 preset

YOUR SKIN WILL LOVE:

ALOE VERA – Provides a protective layer on the skin surface, rich in minerals and antioxidants it nourishes skin whilst soothing irritated skin.

GREEN TEA – An anti-aging ingredient, helps to reduce fine lines whilst also improving sun damaged skin!

HYALURONIC ACID – Helps to alleviate dry skin, keeps the water content in the skin layers whilst reduces the signs of aging.

My thoughts: The Hydra Soother mask will be a staple from now on. I loved that the mask was literally dripping in product! I kept it on for a little longer than recommended but it ensured the product soaked in, especially as I needed all the goodness of the aloe vera.

Duft & Doft SalmonVGene Hydro Active Mask ~ RRP £4.00

This luxurious high-density microfiber air-sheet mask comes generously soaked in nourishing essence enriched with active ingredient Omega-3 amino acids and blended sodium DNA derived from caviar extracts to drastically improve the skin’s natural rejuvenation process. At 38 ml, the mask is infused with 3 times more essence than others in the market, providing a concentrated immersion experience. For an instant re-generation, anti-wrinkle and skin brightening effect, all at once. This is not your ordinary face mask, guaranteed!

YOUR SKIN WILL LOVE:

OMEGA-3 – 1,000ppm of caviar extracts helps to protect skin from UVA and UVB rays, prevents the breakdown of collagen and elastin!

COLLAGEN – Promotes glowing vibrant skin, helps to restore lost collagen fibres!

My thoughts: Another mask dripping in goodness. This mask was great to use after a tough week as the collagen made my skin instantly tighter and supple.

Duft & Doft Black Therapy Customized Refining Mask ~ RP £4.00

Processed with VSCO with kp5 preset

This Duft & Doft Black Therapy sheet mask provides purifying and brightening effect to the skin, for both sensitive and oily skin types! The mask has a velvety touch and the black mineral material gently absorbs all impurities. Each Black Therapy mask is enriched with precious plant elements leaving the skin moisturised whilst at the same time cleaner and brighter.

YOUR SKIN WILL LOVE:

LOTUS FLOWER – Controls sebum production helping to balance out oily skin whilst hydrating and providing elasticity.

My thoughts: I don’t have oily skin but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t enjoy the benefits of this mask. It worked similarly to the hydrating mask and my skin felt immediately moisturised after use.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SOMETHING SO UGLY?

Since trying out Mask Time, I have purchased a TON of masks from their as they had a sale and I couldn’t resist. I’m wondering if I should start a Memoirs and Musings Mask Series from now on?

You can purchase individual masks or the ‘Glow Starter’ and ‘Glow Setter’ subscription boxes here

What sheet masks do you like using as part of your self care routine?
