The historical symbols of Delhi such as Jama Masjid, Lal Quila , Humayun Tomb and Qutub Minar dates back to centuries, but these monuments attract thousands of people every day to admire the art and glory.

Qutub Minar is located in Mehrauli, New Delhi and is a magnificent creation by Qutub Ud Din Aibak, of the Mamluk dynasty and dates back to 1192 A.D. [Nasir Kachroo/The Travellore]
Along with the ancient and medieval monuments surrounding it, forming the Qutub Complex, it is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site. [Nasir Kachroo/The Travellore]
The Iron Pillar of Delhi, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Alai Darwaza, the Tomb of Iltutmish, Alai Minar, Ala-ud-din’s Madrasa and the Tomb of Imam Zamin are few other monuments that accompany the Qutub Minar in the same premises. [Nasir Kachroo/The Travellore]
The pillar displays verses of Quran carved upon it with detailed designs on all its 6 floors. The floors are made out of sandstone, red sand stone and marble. Nasir Kachroo/The Travellore]
The pillar was initially built on the ruins of Lal Kot, where Aibak’s successor Iltutmish added three more floors to complete the tower. [Nasir Kachroo/The Travellore]
Certain stories of the Qutub Minar was damaged by natural disasters like earthquakes and heavy lightening which were then repaired or rebuilt by Feroz Shah Tuglaq and Sikander Lodi. [Nasir Kachroo/The Travellore]
