Bangalore Bakery Walk – Albert Bakery

For folks in Bengaluru, Albert Bakery is as legendary as it could get ! I have lived in this city for more than a decade now and I don’t know why or how I did not end up going here, but I finally did as part of Bangalore Bakery Walks which again is something that I initiated to explore legendary bakeries like this in the city. This was the second walk after the first one at O G Variar which was a fantastic experience as well.

The Bakery is famous for its non-vegetarian items but that doesn’t mean the vegetarians have nothing for them here, there are a few that stand out for the latter as well. The place opens at around 3 pm and people start trickling in as soon as they are open which is the reason why some of the items run out well before their closing time.

The bakery is in the Frazer Town Area and I arrived early evening to satisfy my post lunch pre-dinner cravings. Here is how it went –

Chicken Seekh KebabThis was served piping hot, yes they microwave before serving but this was a new batch when I ordered and came in fresh. Kebab was loaded with Chicken and every bite was meaty and fulfilling. This got me going for sure !

Chicken Seekh Kebab

Mutton Samosa – Ask anyone what is a must have here and this will be top of the list. They have both regular and mini Samosa’s. I wanted more of it and went with the regular one but somehow it did not click with me. I got more onion’s than mutton and it was more oily than I expected. Maybe I got the wrong one that day !

Chicken Cutlet – One more non-veg item to try and this time it was Cutlet. Again very generous on the meat with shredded chicken stuffed to max. Very satisfied with this one as well.

Though my appetite had given up, my cravings had not especially since this was my first visit which meant I grab take-away’s and relish them later from the comfort of my home. They had Quiches, Pastries, Biscuits, Chips, Sweets and much more –

I was told the Khova Naan is another best seller here and considering it is not something that one person can hog on, ordered it for take-away along with some Aloo Bonda’s. Both did not disappoint and did live up to the hype!

Service is quick. They have lots of people ready to serve and with the crowd that comes in here, they do need all the help. Ticking this off my bucket list with an experience to cherish ! If there is anyone visiting Bangalore, if you have the time, do go here although I wouldn’t say its a must visit if one is on a short trip.
