Young Chef Olympiad 2019 – the World’s largest Olympiad (Details here) by the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) concluded with Cyrène Randrianasolo from France lifting the winners trophy ! After battling it out with contestants of over 55 countries with multiple rounds spread across different cities, Cyrene was declared the winner at the extravagant closing ceremony held at Kolkata on February 2nd 2019 ! IIHM Bangalore hosted the first two rounds of the competition on January 30th and the 31st with contestants from 10 countries categorized under Group F competing which included France as well.

It was great to see the 10 Young Chef’s in Bangalore giving their best putting up some incredible dishes. It was an amalgamation of different cultures through food in the best way possible !

With excitement, confidence and determination to win, these Young Chef’s were seen bringing their A game to the fore

The Judges had a tough task at hand discussing, tasting and scoring the contestants based on the dish served. Looking at them huddle was a clear indication of the difficult task they had at hand. The Judges panel included some of the best Culinary legends from all over the world including Michelin Star Chef John Wood, Chef Scott Baechler, Chef Chef Shaun Kenworthy, Chef Abhijit Saha, Chef Avijit Ghosh, Chef Vikas Seth, Culinary Expert Suresh Hinduja, Chef Enrico Bricarello amidst several others greats in the industry

Thanks to Sanchari Chowdhury, Elizabeth Moyon and the team of amazing students at the Bangalore campus for letting us be a part of this extravaganza. Kudos to the team and Dr Suborno Bose for conceptualizing and flawlessly executing the World’s largest Chef Olympiad and encouraging young talent like never before
