Orange Mud Transition Wrap Review

This post is sponsored by Orange Mud. All opinions are always my own and are never influenced by any free product I receive or relationship I may have with a company.

I am super excited to get to test out the Orange Mud Transition Wrap as this week’s gear test review! One of the things that has always irritated me (as a hiker in hot and humid weather) is the fact I sweat all over my truck seats. Sure, I have tried using a towel, but they always fall down and I am constantly trying to fidget with it at stops to get it back into the right position. Or I sweat so much, it goes through the towel itself (yep that has happened).

When I had cloth seats, it would hold in the odor and leave visible stains. Now that I have leather seats, not only do I have the same issue, I risk ruining my leather seats from the salt in my sweat. Prayers have been answered y’all, by Orange Mud! They call it their transition and seat wrap. But, does it really work?

What I am Reviewing

Today I am reviewing the Orange Mud Transition and Seat Wrap in Purple (it is also available in several other colors).

It is a seat protector and changing towel in one. With a zip-up hood, this towel easily stays in place on your seat (no more dropping down behind your back) and unzips flat so it can be used as a wrap or even a regular towel. Made from microfiber, it is soft, thick, and machine washable.

What I Liked

Where do I even start!?! It has been a long time since I have come across a product that I am 99.999% happy with!

Seat Cover: This is by far the main reason I love this Orange Mud Transition and Seat Wrap! I live in Central Texas where it is hot and humid. I love to hike (and hike a lot, even mid-day) and therefore I sweat A LOT more compared to when I am in states that have less humidity. My tuck always smelled like a locker room even though I would try and protect my seat with regular towels. They always slipped down. This has a zippered hood that keeps the towel in place on the seat. No more slipping down behind my back while I am driving!

Zippered Hood – The hood, unzips completely flat which allows this to be used as a regular towel or a wrap.

Works well in the office too – On the days I cannot get to the trails, I take a 3-4 mile morning walk around the neighborhood before starting my day. I like to start working right after walking or hiking as it is when I am the most alert and productive (thank goodness I work from home, huh?). To help save my office chair, I put the Orange Mud Transition and Seat Wrap on it. Works like a charm!

Just me getting ready to conquer the day while protecting my office chair from my sweaty self with the Orange Mud Transition Wrap

Microfiber – I cannot tell you how much I love that this is microfiber and not your usually scratchy typical towel!

Secure Wrap Function – Most wraps use velcro to stay “closed”. I am using the word closed very loosely in that sentence as we all know velcro wraps tend to open on their own. Orange Mud must have known this when they came up with their closure system. How do I even begin to explain this awesomeness?! It is a sewn belt-type system with a secure clip. This will not come unwrapped on its own y’all!

Size: At 30″ wide by 60″ long, this towel is (almost) the perfect size. It is definitely the perfect size for use as a seat cover and even a wrap, but check out the “What to Improve” section to see my suggestion on this.

Colors: I love the fact that they offer these in multiple colors. When I first checked them out a while back, the color option was limited; but they now offer it in orange, purple, pink, black, Caribbean blue, red, lime green, gray, and royal blue. You better believe I am ordering the pink one (that is the color of accessory I use for my truck) and this purple one will now become the one I use strictly in my office. I also plan to order my husband one!

Customize it! You can choose to have it embroidered as well (either with text or a logo). Yes, I will be getting the pink one I order embroidered with Nutty Hiker on it!

Machine Washable: Like everything I have in my life, I prefer it to be machine washable and this Orange Mud Transition Wrap is!

What to Improve

Size: I would like to see it offered in a wider size, or (lightbulb moment here); what about having closures along the long edge and making it wider, so it can be used as a hooded full-body wrap? This would allow you to change your top and bottom underneath at the same time!

Overall Impression

The Orange Mud Transition Wrap is by far one of the best products I have reviewed in a long time. Mostly because it solves an issue I have had for a very long time! The zippered hood allows the wrap to stay in place on the seat while using it as a seat cover. The patented belt closure system works flawlessly when using it as a wrap. I will be buying several more not only for myself but for Christmas gifts, that is for sure.

Where to Buy the Orange Mud Transition Wrap

You can buy the Orange Mud Transition Wrap from their website. Also, if you are interested in a waterproof version of the wrap, they have that as well!
