Incorporating Sports Drinks Into Your Pre & Post Hike Routine

This post is sponsored by BODYARMOR.

It is no secret that hiking causes you to sweat which causes you to lose electrolytes which then causes dehydration. That is why it is important to replace those electrolytes as you are hiking, especially if you are hiking in a hot and/or humid climate.

While there are several ways you can replace those electrolytes on the trail, it is important to pre-hydrate before you even begin your hike and rehydrate yourself after a hike. Failing to do so could cause dehydration which could cause serious health issues.

The easiest and most popular way to pre-hydrate and rehydrate is alternating Sports Drinks and water. While this works well, most sports drinks contain a lot of sugar and other things that aren’t so great for you!

That is why I like BODYARMOR sports drinks for my pre-hydration (pre-hike) and rehydration (post-hike) routines. Not only do they taste great and are refreshing but they are packed with electrolytes, coconut water, and vitamins and are low in sodium and high in potassium. BODYARMOR contains natural flavors and sweeteners and no colors from artificial sources.

And for those counting calories, BODYARMOR came out this year (2018) with BODYARMOR LYTE Sports Drink which is a natural, low-calorie sports drink with potassium-packed electrolytes, coconut water, and vitamins. It has only 20 calories per serving, is naturally flavored and sweetened (with pure cane sugar, stevia, and erythritol) and has no colors from artificial sources.

Starting in 2018, BODYARMOR Sports Drink is now available in 6-Packs across the U.S. at several retailers including Kroger, Target and Publix. It is available in four flavors including Strawberry Banana, Orange Mango, Fruit Punch and Peach Mango LYTE. Click HERE to SAVE TWO DOLLARS NOW on BODYARMOR 6-packs.

If sports water is more your thing, they also have BODYARMOR SportWater which is a premium sports water designed by athletes, for athletes. It has a performance pH of 8+ and a proprietary sports electrolyte formula that comes in a wide-mouth bottle for faster, superior hydration.
