So I booked a room here, queen size bed, private, for only 1000 php a night so I wasn't expecting much out of that value especially for a beach hut accommodation. Plus, the photos I saw online were not bad but not that great either. Turns out that the place is a darling. It looks and feels waaaaaaay better than online and we were so happy.


We came at around 3 pm just before the sun set low on the horizon and the weather was perfect. By golden hour, the place felt so surreal. You know feeling of being next to sea, the waves serenading you, the sun punctuating through coconut trees, the air so fresh. At that time, I said to myself, "oh Siargao, why is that here the green grass looks greener, the blue sky looks bluer and the fresh air feels fresher". It certainly sets the good mood and tempo for our 5 days stay in the island.


Also, since I booked just a week before our trip, I just went for the cheapest one I could find. I didn't realize until the day of the trip that it is located in Pacifico ( San Isidro) which is an hour drive by motorbike from General Luna which is the main surfing location ( Cloud 9) and where most accommodation, pubs and restaurants are located. But it turned out great because the area is the quieter side of Siargao and we were so delighted we started the first two days of our trip in a relaxed, slow-paced tempo.
