"Faro del Fin del Mundo" lighthouse at the end of the world

The "Faro del Fin del Mundo", Lighthouse at the end of the world,  (officially known as San Juan Lighthouse Rescue) is to the northeast of the Isla de los Estados, south of Argentina. It has only a height of 6 m, but is 60 m above sea level.

It is the oldest lighthouse in Argentina and the first to be built in the southern waters: its construction dates back to 1884.
Jules Verne was inspired him to write his novel The Lighthouse at the End of the World, published posthumously in 1905.
The original lighthouse remained in ruins for decades, but was recently restored respecting the original design, is an octagonal house, floor, located on a rocky promontory, with the lantern on its roof.

It is a restricted area, but a exact replica of the lighthouse can be seen at the Museo Maritimo in Ushuaia.
