Ngima Tamang

“Client’s happiness is the happiness of our team and hence when a client smiles for what we have delivered, I realize the importance of my job.”

Ngima Tamang, a senior trek guide who has led treks to every region of the Himalayas has been into business for more than 35 years. During these years as trek guide, Ngima has seen so many wonderful facets of Nepalese Tourism and few economically challenged years. The profession of a trek guide in Nepal is seasonal as during monsoon & winter no trekkers visit highland Himalayas. His family size that counts six depended on his income for years before his son Rupchand decided to find his career in his father’s footsteps.

Nigma loves his job as he gets opportunities to meet new and diverse-principled people on every trek.

Despite so many complaints against the system that doesn’t implement safe and secured policies for guide’s families as the profession is always challenging, he is very happy to be a trek guide. He says, “Client’s happiness is the happiness of our team and hence when a client smiles for what we have delivered, I realize the importance of my job.”
