17.06.20: Newa Bhay Bowneykuthi, Singtam Sakha of Sikkim Newar Guthi met the four affected families of yesterday late night Fire accident and presented them financial assistance. The affected families of Bir Bdr Subba, Binita Subba and Durga Pradhan were presented with the amount of ₹15,000 each while Manoj Prasad was given ₹5000 as a support.

In a short meeting held between Chief Advisor, Advisors and executive members through mobile phones it was decided that the organisation need to stand by with the affected families in this hour of time. We feel very sad of yesterday's tragedy. We share the sorrow and grief of the affected families. We will surely help re-establish themselves in days to come too, says the press release.

Newa Bhay Bowneykutti, Singtam Sakha Guthi along with all the Newars of Singtam would like to thank the Chief Minister of Sikkim and his Cabinet Ministers for their prompt action in visiting the fire affected families. NBB thanked SHO, Singtam Police Station and Suresh Pradhan, senior member of NBB for his immediate actions in clearing the areas of the fire gutted houses.

The press release also thanked the Fire Stations from Rangpo, NHPC and Gangtok whose prominent presence help put off the fire. We further like to appreciate the efforts of members of different association and locals who came and helped to extinguish the fire. Suresh Pradhan, Sr. Member promises every support to the affected family and mentions we stand together with the family in this need of the hour.
