Shaving Brush is made from different sources like the synthetic ones, boar hairs, horse, and badgers. The Badger Hair brush is the best of all of these brushes. When used with a good safety razor like Vikings Blade, it gives quality shaves. Taking the badger brush into closer perspective, there is different quality depending on the location of the body the hairs were taken from.
Grade 1
This is the most common type of badger hairs. These hairs are found in the general body of a badger. They seem to be coarser than others in this hair type and would give a better exfoliation when used during shaving. They are also usually the cheapest of badger hair brushes.
Grade 2
This brush hair seems to be darker in color than the Grade 1 hairs. It is gotten from the stomach area of the badger. The hairs are softer and won't give as much exfoliation when shaving like the Grade 1 brush. Because of its texture, it is able to trap in more moisture.
Grade 3
In comparison to the previous two grades, this one has a finer gauge. It is gotten from the back region of the badger. Exfoliation will reduce but it holds much more moisture. This means it would produce a much richer lather.
Grade 4
This has the finest gauge of them all and is gotten from the neck region of the badger. It is ideal for getting the best moisture and would resultantly produce a better, richer, and fuller lather.
