According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, a reliable source for Apple news, the two companies are talking about how to add Gemini's smart features to iPhones later this year. Apple has also talked with another company, OpenAI, about a similar deal.

Even though Apple and Google compete in selling smartphones, they have worked together before. Google pays Apple billions every year so that Google's search engine is the first choice on Apple's Safari browser. The details about how Gemini will be used in iPhones are not decided yet. But when the news came out, Google's company value went up by more than 7% and Apple's by over 2%.

This move could make Gemini available to many more users. But it also shows that Apple might need more time to develop its own smart tech. There's also worry that this deal could lead to more government questions about whether the companies are too powerful.
