Months into stay-at-home orders and unlimited TikTok’ing, the idea of outdoor roller skating would not let me rest! I hopped online to snag a pair. My first choice was definitely the Moxi “Beach Bunny” in purple. Perfect price at $150. Great reviews. SOLD OUT UNTIL AUGUST 2020 (just checked; availability pushed back to October). I wanted to skate in May!!

I searched all over for the Skates. No luck. Sold out on and offline.

Impala has a few cute pairs. My favorites were the black and white pairs:

Honestly, this may have been for the best. Many reviews online complained of quality with the Impala brand.

The Candi Girl pair below has great reviews, but were also (you guessed it) SOLD OUT.

After weeks of obsessing over possessing a pair of Roller Skates I finally lucked up on a pair in stock on Amazon by a brand named BTFL. The Scarlett Pro in a cool baby blue suede. And I love them!

Added a cool pair of laces and purchased a skate tool, which is necessary for loosening the wheels and trucks. This is a mandatory step. Straight out of the box none of the wheels gave a proper spin. After a tiny twist, they all spin at the same rate and the ride is super smooth. I also loosened the trucks a bit for a better level of comfortability with maneuvering.

78A wheels handle pavement, small pebbles, sticks and grooves really well and the adjustable rubber stop does its job. I haven’t adjusted the stops’ height. The setting straight out of the box has been ok for me.

As an amateur skater, at $140, the Scarlett Pros from BTFL are the perfect skates! Solid 10/10.
