My interview this week is with speaker, advocate, storyteller, and community builder Adriel Booker. It was great to connect with her on such a tricky subject: pride.

Enjoy the video!

Prefer to listen to the audio only? Here you go:

Here are some of the questions I asked Adriel:

  • In your work as a Christian author and writer, what unhelpful or unhealthy trends have you observed on social media and online in general?
  • In Chapter 6 of Influence, we share a quote of yours. Part of that quote says, “Too many platform builders are so concerned about building their brand that they are making their own image an idol. None of us are exempt from this pull.” How have you experienced this pull in your own life?
  • Pride can sometimes be viewed as one of those “respectable sins.” Why do Christian influencers need to be careful about the presence of pride in their hearts?
  • What “remedy” or solution do you suggest to this often present, yet sometimes subtle sin?
  • What practical tips or advice could you offer for Christian writers who often fall into the temptation and tendency to build their own name or brand?

I’d love to hear what you gained from listening to our conversation! Share your thoughts in the comments below.
