National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD) – Resources

This week, on Friday, March 10, people across our nation are recognizing National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD). This annual observance highlights the impact of HIV on this population and raises public awareness about the importance of working to prevent HIV and to foster access to necessary care and treatment services. The 2017 theme is “The Best Defense is a Good Offense.”

The HHS Office on Women’s Health (OWH) provides national leadership for this observance and has done so since NWGHAAD began 12 years ago.
