Network Security Pro’s Guide to RSAC 2022

RSAC is known for its infosec content including deep technical dives into cryptography, governance, and compliance. But hidden throughout the week-long agenda are gems of content on network security, network architecture, and wireless.

As many of you know, I’ve served on the RSAC Program Committee for many years, and this year I had the pleasure of again leading the Technology Infrastructure Operations track with my partners in crime, Chuck Kesler and Dan Houser. But, not all the juicy infrastructure sessions are in our track.

Here are my top picks for network security professionals at RSAC 2022. Keep scrolling for more tips on navigating the agenda.

MONDAY

  • Mon, 8:30am
    Cyber Defense Matrix: Revolutions

    with Sounil Yu
If you’re interesting in mapping your defensive tools and network architecture to a great model, don’t miss this session. I recently got my hands on Sounil’s book “Cyber Defense Matrix” and it’s a great resource for finding blind spots and categorizing products/solutions.

Securing Entry Points and Active Directory to Prevent Ransomware Attacks
  • Mon, 1:10pm
Strong Story to Tell: Top 10 Mistakes by Administrators About Remote Work

WEDNESDAY

  • Wed, 9:40am
BoF: Mid-Size Focus: Getting Started with Zero Trust for Remote & On-Prem Users

    with ME Jennifer Minella
This is a roundtable, or “Birds of a Feather” session that’s limited to around 20 attendees. This is not a presentation but instead I’ll be leading a conversation with the attendees. It’s a great time to connect with peers dealing with similar challenges and projects.
  • Wed, 10:45am
Adaptively Fingerprinting Users/Applications at Scale with GPU Acceleration

with Sr. Data Scientists from NVIDIA,
