The Four Fastest High Paying Green Jobs

In case you haven’t noticed, the environment seems to be in a bit of a tiff at the moment. It turns out that centuries of ravaging the planet, and over a century of industrial revolution, has led to a horrific impact on the planet. That’s why terms like ‘green jobs’ are becoming more and more popular. We are in the midst of creating industries to try and wind back the clock and avoid the catastrophic future that appears to lie in wait for this planet. What, though, are the quickest-growing, fastest-paying green jobs?

Environmental science

Given that Science is now very much on the path to environmentalism, we can see more and more people getting jobs in the environmental science role. With a median wage of over $71k, too, it’s safe to say that people in this role are in demand due to their specific expertise.

Add in the fact that we are on a collision course with reality if we don’t actually get it together and start making decisions to save the planet, it makes sense that companies are happy to invest in the people capable of creating solutions we can actually use.

Hydrologists

Going hand in hand with the above are hydrologists. We need to understand how water impacts on the environment, as it plays such a key role in being able to try and find some way to handle climate change. That’s why hydrologists are without doubt one of the most important and fastest growing industries for jobs in the green sector.

They are needed to help provide us with the information that we need when analysing samples and working out where we might be going wrong as we go about transforming how we go about managing the water that we need for life.

Environmental tech

Another important sector in need of good minds and good people is that of environmental technical engineering. We need people to help us build the hardware that we need to deal with pollution and to kill off the horrific impact we’ve had on our environment.

This is why people in these roles are bringing anything upward of $50k per annum. People with the skills and knowledge needed to help the environment and make tools to do so are very important to our future.

For that reason, that’s why these brilliant minds are so well reimbursed for their time.

Space science

The most rapidly growing and highly paid (median wage of over $90k/year) role for environmental change, though, is that of space science. Meteorologists are a vital part of being able to help us get a grip on the weather, meaning that we can learn far more about the consequences of our actions both today and in the past.

For that reason, we recommend that you take a closer look at what space science is going to be able to produce for us as a species – the opportunity to get things done in a safe, secure manner. That’s why green jobs are booming, and space science is top of the class. We need to know the present and future risks that the climate poses to us, so that we can prepare accordingly.

All of these roles are vital to making the planet safer in the future. If you are looking for a career in the environmental and green industries, the four above options are well worth looking into.
