Amazon announced today that it will host its annual Prime Day shopping event on July 11 and 12. The company usually offers many discounts to customers to boost sales numbers during this event.

The company said the event will begin on July 3 morning EDT and run through July 12. The Prime Day sales will take place simultaneously in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden , Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the US and the UK.

However, the company will hold a Prime Day event in India later this summer. Notably, the company did not mention the country in its Q1 2023 results — a first since 2014.

The e-commerce giant is also introducing invite-only deals where customers can request invitations for deals that are expected to sell out quickly.

“With Invite-only deals, we are adding more value to the Prime experience and have made it easier for our Prime members to access exclusive doorbuster deals at incredible prices without waiting in line,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime in a statement.

US-based Prime members can take advantage of some deals starting June 21. In addition, the company said that from June 29 through July 26, they can get a $200 Amazon gift card upon approval for a Prime Visa card.

Amazon will also offer deals on its own devices such as Amazon Echo and Eero mesh Wi-Fi systems. In addition, Amazon Prime Vidoe gets discounts on some rental titles and channel subscriptions. Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported that the company plans to launch an ad-supported tier for Amazon Prime Video.

The company has teamed up with influencers such as Marianna Hewitt, Whitney Port, Tayshia Adams, and Rocky Barnes to post curated deals on their storefronts. Just like last year, the company is also joining forces live shopping streams with the likes of Lola Tung, Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno. However, reports suggested that live shopping was not a successful outing last July.

Last year, Amazon had two prime day sales, the first taking place on July 12-13 and the second on October 11-12. The company did not specify whether it is following a strategy for two Prime Day events this year.

A report from Insider Intelligence suggests the US e-commerce market will clock in at $1.1 trillion this year. While sales grew last year, analysts estimate that growth in the single digits.

Amazon had a better first quarter than last year, with the company recording $127.4 billion in revenue (up 9% year over year) and $3.71 billion in profit (up from $3.84 billion last year) for Q1 2023.
