A short summary of the Press Conference (in English):
The project was selected at a public target call for applications, which should determine the organizer of Slovenia's presentation at the 14thInternational Architecture Exhibition in Venice. The architecture and design expert commission made the following argumentation: „The project is complex and creates a convincing and authentic look at Slovenian architecture and spatial relations through the story of Noordung while confronting the milestones of the past 100 years in a special way. The whole, based on specific characteristics of the Centre of Space Technologies, Herman Potočnik – Noordung, a short discourse into the history of Slovenian architecture (among others it includes architects such as Fabiani, Plečnik, Ravnikar, Jugovec, Sadar-Vuga and the group of KSEVT authors) and the central architecture which no only because of its formal and symbolic position changed the town; moreover, it does not only incorporate a larger number of creative people from various important fields dealing with how to properly implement architecture into the society – it also incorporates a group of younger propulsive architects. The setup shows promise of a visually attractive interactive installation and a series of accompanying events linked to international grounds. Architects engaged in the project, like Zavod DESSA and The Architects Association of Ljubljana, also ensure a proper expert support of the project.“
The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia shall co-finance the project and the presentation of Slovenia at the 14thInternational Architecture Exhibition to the amount of 85.000 €.
