Gagarin's flight took place on 12 April 1961 - this day is now celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Human Spaceflight. This solemn event on the eve of this historic anniversary will host Valery Tokarev, Mayor of Star City, Russia, and many other honourable guests. There will also be a refreshment buffet for visitors, a shorter concert programme, and a screening of the new Russian film "Gagarin. First in Space" (RU: "Гагарин. Первый в космосе") with Slovenian subtitles. The event is held by KSEVT and The Russian Centre of Science and Culture from Ljubljana, Slovenia.
