Vitanje and KSEVT were visited by Sergei Viktorovich Zalyotin, a Russian pilot and cosmonaut, two-time spaceflight Crew Member and currently the assistant director of the Yuri A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City, Russia. He was a crew member in the last expedition to the Russian space station Mir and, in his next flight, payed visit to the International Space Station (ISS).

Zalyotin and his delegation from Star City visited KSEVT and Vitanje representatives to furtherly develop the now more than fifteen years long cooperation between the Cosmonaut Training Centre and KSEVT programmes. The visit mainly focused on the incentive to send a female artist from Slovenia to the ISS. As of yet, no final agreements were reached. A gradual plan or a prediction of further steps in the process was set in order to enable this historical event in the next two years.
