Taking Charge w/ “My Chart” Health App

“We have the greatest hospitals, doctors and medical technology in the world – we need to make them accessible to every American” ~ Barbara Boxer, Senator

USF Health’s MyChart App

USF Health is happy to introduce their patients across the nation to MyChart, a revolutionary new tool designed to grant patients the power to take charge of their health and wellness with greater ease and efficiency than ever before.

MyChart is a cloud based application designed as both, a more modern patient portal system and as a portable tool that enables users to quickly and easily view their USF Health medical records. The app, acts as a central hub for patients to schedule their appointments, request refills, send secure messages to previously visited providers and to make more highly informed decisions about their individual health and wellness. To that end, patients can use the MyChart app to review their diagnosed conditions, medications, allergies, immunizations, vitals, health documents and any upcoming appointments.

Users of the new app have also been given the ability to connect to their USF Health records at other health care institutions (e.g. Tampa General Hospital), if needed. This technology helps to not only improve patient-to-provider communication but also to ensure that all USF Health patients will have free access to their medical records, 24/7.

It’s clear, it’s simple and above all it’s patient-centered.

New MyChart App for Patients

All you’ll need to begin using MyChart is a valid email address for the registration process. However, this is a process that must be performed from within a desktop computer or laptop. Once completed, an optional app is available to download and use from a mobile phone, iPad, etc.

The ability of such modern technology to introduce innovation and to rapidly transform the way that businesses run, has had a massive impact on nearly every known industry. And it is this marriage between technology and healthcare, which is partially responsible for the growth of a new generation of patients who are taking a much more active role in managing their unique health information, planning and care.

What does this mean for you, the individual in the mix of it all? Whether you’re a CEO or the patient of a healthcare organization, technology can inject much-needed speed, simplicity and peace of mind. In short, progress is prevalent across the board for all.

Most smartphone owners will typically have at least one health or fitness related app setup for their phones, already. It’s just too convenient to not consider in our increasingly mobile-driven world.
