Pre-requisites

• HTC 10 drivers – Windows | MAC
• Android SDK – Download
• TWRP recovery – Download
• SuperSU – Download

Before you proceed:

• Make sure your phone’s bootloader is unlocked.
• Install Android SDK
• Enable USB Debugging: Go to About phone > Tap on Build number 7 times. This will enable
• Developer options: Now go back to Settings > Developer options > Enable USB debugging.
• Enable OEM Unlocking: Go to Settings > Developer options. Then enable the ‘OEM Unlocking’ option.

Step 1: Install TWP Recovery on HTC 10

1. Download the TWRP recovery from above link and copy-paste it into android-sdk-windows\platform-tools . Rename it to “recovery.img”
2. Navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools and open CMD there(Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt)
3. Connect HTC to PC.
4. Type:

   adb reboot bootloader

5. After the phone reboots into fastboot, type:

   fastboot flash recovery

6.  Done

You have successfully installed Twrp Recovery on HTC 10.

Step 2: Flash SuperSU on HTC 10

1. Copy the download SuperSU.zip file and paste it into root directory of your phone’s storage.
2. Connect HTC 10 to PC.
3. Navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools and open CMD there(Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt)
4. Type:

    adb reboot recovery

5. Once the phone boots into recovery, select install and choose the SuperSu.zip file.
6. Flash the file and wait for the process to finish.
7. Done

You have successfully rooted your HTC 10 and Installed Twrp Recovery on it.
