The arrival of the Ryzen 9 3900 is getting closer. This new AMD processor is aimed at the top of the general consumer market, where it will share the "throne" with the Ryzen 9 3900X and the expected Ryzen 9 3950X. As we have told you in previous articles, the Ryzen 9 3900 is a lower frequency version of the Ryzen 9 3900X. This means that it only has two differences with it, the speed it brings from home and the TDP since the first one operates at 3.1 GHz-4.3 GHz and has a TDP of 65 watts. The "X" version operates at 3.8 GHz-4.6 GHz and its TDP rises to 105 watts. The Ryzen 9 3900 will come with the multiplier unlocked, which means we can overclock it effortlessly and reduce distances with the Ryzen 9 3900X. The first tests that have leaked confirm that it is capable of reaching 4.3 GHz with all active cores maintaining a voltage of 1.375V and using an AIO liquid cooling kit. They are quite good numbers since they suggest that this processor should have no problem to reach 4.2 GHz in all cases maintaining a voltage and temperatures completely optimal. In the filtered tests, we have also seen that this chip reaches 5.5 GHz when subjected to extreme overclocking with liquid nitrogen. There is no doubt that Ryzen 9 3900 is going to be a very powerful chip, but the most interesting thing will be its value for money. Right now the Ryzen 9 3900X has an average price of 549 euros, a figure that should remain as it is when the launch of the Ryzen 9 3950X occurs since the latter will occupy its own space and cost 749 euros. Well, if everything goes as planned the Ryzen 9 3900 should reach the market with an approximate price of 479-499 euros, a very good figure that could make it, as we said in the title, the "king" of the high range. Keep in mind that a 12-core, the 24-wire processor will not make a difference if you are going to limit yourself to playing current titles. However, if you plan to enjoy current games and stream, or if you want to use the PC to play and work the thing changes completely.
