Home assistants, such as Alexa and Google Assistant, are becoming ubiquitous and, as that happens, more and more users are discovering what part of their data is being collected by these useful elements.
Some time ago it came to light that Amazon employees were listening and reviewing all the conversations recorded by the devices to try to help improve the functioning of their artificial intelligence.
However, if like this all makes you feel uncomfortable, you can always choose to delete the recordings already made by Alexa and Google Assistant, although at the moment we can only stop the future recordings of the second one. The good thing is that it is a really simple and fast process that will hardly take us a couple of minutes:
- The first thing will be to access the page My activity of Google, where all our activity related to the services of the company is stored.
- From here, we will open the drop-down menu by clicking on the icon of the three points, located in the top right, and we will click on "Controls of the activity of your account".
- Scrolling down we will find a section called «Voice and audio activity». Which we must deactivate if you find it activated.
- Finally, we should only accept the conditions and possible repercussions of the emerging message, which will warn us of serious consequences such as the fact that the assistant does not recognize us (which we have been able to verify, does not happen).
