The HomePod consumes less energy playing music than an LED bulb and its power cord can be replaced

Well, you can stop worrying because a new report from Apple reveals that the company has made the HomePod consume less even than a LED bulb. And we do not talk about a consumption while the speaker is at rest or attentive to the orders we can give it, no: we talk about the consumption while it is playing songs. While an LED bulb consumes about 9 or 10 W on average, the HomePod consumes 8.75 W while it is playing.

Just 1.75W of consumption at rest

Look at the table above: the exact consumption varies slightly depending on the type of socket into which the HomePod is plugged in (Japan has 100V plugs, the United States 115V and other countries such as Spain 230V), but in none of the cases exceed 9.25W while playing songs. In fact, when the HomePod goes into sleep mode, it consumes just 1.75W of power. This mode is activated by default once past eight minutes in which nothing is played, although the speaker is always attentive to receive our orders. Little joke with this: it is less than 50% of what the ENERGY STAR program requires at most to give its approval.

Replaceable power cable

Another interesting detail of HomePod that they have been able to collect from 9to5Mac is that their power cable can be replaced. Some feared that it would be fixed to the loudspeaker so that if it broke down, the entire device had to be repaired, but an Apple spokesman said that the cable is removable and therefore can be easily changed. And for those who are more demanding with the design, the source has also been able to confirm directly from Apple that the cable of the Black HomePod is going to be also black. And it will measure two meters, so we will have some flexibility to be able to place it anywhere in the house. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
