MIUI 9 leaked images surface in the internet- with supported devices list!

After the success of MIUI 8, Xiaomi Dev team is reportedly working on MIUI 9. Even though Xiaomi provides MIUI updates regularly to all its devices, the base Android version is usually untouched.

Say for instance,

MIUI 8 update was given as OTA to all devices, but the Android version was kept same-KK devices received KK based MIUI8, LP devices received LP based MIUI8,MM devices received MM based MIUI8.

However, this time with MIUI9, Xiaomi seems to have plans to upgrade the OS right from the base itself.Leaked images & snippets of info collected from MIUI forums indicate that Xiaomi has already received the Source code from Google.

The supported devices include Mi 5s Plus,Mi 5s,Mi 5,Mi Max,Mi 4i,Mi 4c,Redmi Note 4,Redmi Pro,Redmi Note 3,Redmi 3s/Prime,Redmi 2 Prime,Mi Pad 2 & Redmi 3.

Older devices like Mi 4,Mi 3,Mi 2,Redmi 2,Redmi 1s will not be receiving theupdate due incompatible hardware/kernel specifications.

If rumours are to be believed, the eligible devices are slated to receive the update by the end of 2016.

However Xiaomi CEO Hugo Barra hints that Mi Note 2 will come with a surprise & this points out that Mi Note 2, which is expected to launch later this year,may come preloaded with MIUI 9.
