ZTE’s Nubia brand has unveiled its latest Z series flagship smartphone in China called Nubia Z50. It comes in Black and White color options that has glass back and Green color with leather rear.

Nubia Z50 specs and features

Starting with dimensions, the Z50 measures 162.9 x 72.9 x 8.46mm (glass) / 8.71mm (leather) and weighs 199 grams / 197 grams respectively. It has dedicated dual Nano SIM slots for 5G (SA/NSA) and dual 4G VoLTE.

The Nubia Z50 feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and brings support for facial recognition as well. It is powered by Android 13 based MyOS 13 out of the box. The phone houses stereo dual speakers with dual smart PA and supports DTS:X Ultra.

The Z50 boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED flexible curved display that offers 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 1440Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 10-bit colors, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and up to 1000nits (peak) brightness.

Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform with Adreno 740 GPU. It has 8GB/12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM options and houses 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage space variants. The storage is non expandable. You also get VC cooling with the total heat dissipation area of 36462mm².

The Nubia Z50 specs include dual cameras at back with quad-LED ring Flash. It has 64MP (35mm main lens, Sony IMX787 sensor, F/1.6 Aperture, OIS) + 50MP (116-degree ultra-wide, Samsung JN1 sensor, F/2.2 Aperture, 2cm macro). The handset can record 8K videos as well. For selfies, it has a 16MP front camera with F/2.45 aperture.

The hardware is juiced up by a 5000mAh (typical) battery and has support for 80W fast charging speeds. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Dual Band (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth V5.3, USB Type-C, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou/Galileo and Type-C Audio.

The Nubia Z50 will go on sale in China from December 23rd. It is already up for booking.

ZTE has also unveiled Nubia Z50 COASTA Edition. While the specs of the handset remain same, the actual boxing is different.
