Leaked screenshots reveal Microsoft’s planned design update for Windows 10

Microsoft may be planning to refresh the elements of its user interface in an update that is planned for later this year. As per MSPoweruser, which claims to have obtained Leaked Screenshots of the yet to come update, the Windows 10 user interface may be host to some major changes, once Microsoft starts rolling out the update to systems.

Microsoft provides pretty frequent updates to Windows 10. The company has always stressed that the platform is a work in progress and as such, it will be improved over time. These updates may take the form of security patches, new features and other things. Now though, it seems as if the company is looking to do further work on the user Interface, which was changed in a major way with the launch of Windows 10.

The company is apparently looking to introduce an Acrylic component to the Windows 10 design. The new component will allow developers to customize their universal applications and significantly modify their appearance. The update will also take 3D and HoloLens into account and will lend itself well to developers looking to develop applications that deploy any of these technologies.

Some of these visual effects remind me of the older version of Windows. Check out the pointer for example. Is it throwback time perhaps?

And this as well:

Meanwhile none of these changes are exactly groundbreaking. However, they are certainly noticeable and will make a difference. There might be more changes where these are coming from though and Microsoft may go for a greater visual overhaul than what the leaked screenshots hint at. We will know more later this year, hopefully at the Build developers conference that is slated to take place in May.

Meanwhile, this update — assuming its not something Microsoft is merely testing internally — may come independently, or as part of one of the two major updates slated to make an appearance this year. If Microsoft does announce it at the nuild developers conference, it may launch it with the creator’s update, which is slated to be released to users sometimes after May.
