At the CES 2017, TrackR announces a brand new solution for all things lost

How often do you lose things? Unless you are one of those super organized people who have separate places for all their stuff and who religiously check their pockets before turning their clothes into the laundry — the answer is probably all the time. Well, as always, some cool new tech is here to turn savior again. Enter TrackR’s newly announced TrackR Wallet 2.0 tracker that was announced at the CES 2017.

Okay, so here is how the TrackR wallet 2.0 works. The new design is that of a credit card shape, so you can easily plop it into your wallet. Once there, you can then locate it, ring it through your Smartphone — be it an iPhone or an Android device. The new trackers are pretty thin at 2 mm, meaning that they won’t unnecessarily bulk up whatever item you want to track.

So for example, if its you wallet you are planning to always keep track of using TrackR’s latest gadget, well no issues at all. Simple slip the device into your wallet and use your smartphone to always know where all your cash and cards (and whatever else you plan on keeping inside your purse) are at any given instant of time. The device comes with user replaceable batteries, meaning that you can plop batteries in or out at your convenience and ensure that your TrackR wallet 2.0 is always juiced up.

Also, while the wallet 2.0 has a range of 100 feet, having more TrackR devices in the vicinity allows it to crowd-source information. So theoretically, if there many of the TrackR device around you, your smartphone would be able to reach your own TrackR wallet 2.0 at highly extended distances. However, the crowd sourced network works far beyond just extending the range of the trackers.

Whenever another TrackR user passes within range of your lost item, it’s GPS location is instantly updated to your phone.

So technically, if everyone started using these trackers, no one would ever lose anything.

The device will be released later this year. Also, always being able to keep track of your wallet will require you to lighten it up by something like $29.99. Meanwhile, you can know more about the device by watching the video right below.
