Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro Likely to Get a Price Hike

Google’s Pixel line of smartphones has established itself as a serious competitor in the rapidly changing field of smartphone technology. The tech community is anticipating the October 2023 release of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. However, recent leaks imply that the cost of these new Pixel family members may be higher than their predecessors. Check out the details.

Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro Price Increase

The Pixel 8 is anticipated to start at $699, while the Pixel 8 Pro could begin at $999, according to a report from 9to5Google. Compared to the devices’ forerunners, this represents a $100 price increase for both. Dealabs also suggests that European customers may pay even more for their devices, with the Pixel 8 starting at €799 and the Pixel 8 Pro at €1,099, respectively. For the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, this would result in price increases of €150 and €200, respectively.

There are several factors at play, but Google’s motivations for raising the prices are not entirely clear. One scenario is that the company is dealing with rising expenses brought on by inflation and supply chain disruptions. It’s also important to note that recent price increases for flagship devices have been implemented by other significant smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung and Apple.

Despite the possibility of a higher price point, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to remain highly sought-after smartphones. Both devices are expected to feature new design elements as well as improved cameras and performance.

While talking about the specs, the Pixel 8 is expected to have a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and curved edges. Both phones are said to be powered by Google’s next-generation Tensor G3 chip, which promises increased speed and efficiency.

Camera enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will both feature a triple-lens rear camera system. A 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 48-megapixel telephoto sensor with 4x optical zoom are rumored to be included in this system. Both devices are expected to have an 11.1-megapixel front-facing camera, promising high-quality selfies and video calls.

Overall, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are generating a lot of buzz in the smartphone world for 2023. While the potential price increase may cause some consumers to hesitate, Google’s track record of producing excellent smartphones suggests that these devices will be well-received by both critics and users. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, with enhanced features and cutting-edge technology, are poised to make a significant impact in the competitive smartphone market. What do you think about Google’s move?
