It is April of 2019 and we are just a few weeks away from the next Oneplus launch based on the timeline it has followed last year. We have already started receiving leaks and updates on the upcoming OnePlus device and it seems like the Chinese flagship maker is touting for three new models this year including OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro and a 5G variant of the same.
Based on the latest leak which appears to be a photo of OnePlus 7 Pro’s retail box or it could be a poster as well which validates the presence of a device named OnePlus 7 Pro. It further adds the tagline that OnePlus will be aiming for OnePlus 7 Pro and probably the OnePlus 7 as well. The tagline reads “Go Beyond Speed”. This is in reference to last year’s OnePlus 6’s “The Speed You Need” followed by OnePlus 6T which had a tagline “Unlock The Speed”. Last year’s OnePlus 6T McLaren Limited Edition had the tagline “Salute to Speed” thanks to its magnanimous 12GB RAM layered upon top-notched specs of OnePlus 6T which has been regarded as one of the best gaming phones in 2018.
OnePlus smartphones are speedy when it comes to handling any number of apps including intensive and graphics-heavy apps like PUBG or PhotoShop without any twitch that makes it the best gaming smartphone. The Chinese smartphone brand pays emphasis on how fast their phones are and in fact, OnePlus devices are among the first one to get Android updates just after Pixel devices followed by a number of updates and security patches that are rolled out throughout the year. I have been using OnePlus 6 for the last six months and updated from Android Oreo to Android Pie based OxygenOS 9.0 just a week after it was officially available.
Moving further, a previous leak has suggested towards the potential Triple Camera Setup with specifics on its sensor size i.e. 48MP + 16MP + 8MP which makes a lot of sense Chinese OEMs are currently targeting the large 48MP sensor as their primary sensor followed by a dual or even triple camera setup.
As per other key specifications, the device will sport a curved 6.67-inch Optic AMOLED display with a front pop-up camera snapper. It will run on Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor with a base 8GB RAM and internal storage of 256GB storage although other variants will be available. The device will be packed with Android Pie bundled with the latest OxygenOS and will be upgradable to Android Q once it hits the market later this year.
