Discover Hidden Transitions in VideoStudio: Elevate Your Videos to the Next Level
One of the common ways in which the marketing of software is touted to anyone who will listen is by crowing about the number of transitions the software has to offer.
Of course the reality is that in professional video or film there are very, very few transitions used and they fall into only a tiny number of categories.
They are straight cuts, crossfades/dissolves or handcrafted by creatively blending the two shots to be joined.
It is within this last class of transition that you can really stand out from the crowd.
If you look at the current batch of very successful TikTok, Instagram and YouTube videos that are aimed at creating exceptionally dynamic content you will see what I mean.
What you don’t see in a lot of consumer level video editors are the raw tools for creating these transitions easily.
More often than not you have to go through the painstaking process of building them frame by frame.
Generally speaking when you get about halfway through that process the temptation to go for a pre-packed transition become almost irresistible!

I must say that over the past two years the Movavi Video Editor has come along way in establishing itself as a fully featured and stable Editing platform.
I originally did not include Movavi in my recommended software section because I felt that at the time Filmora did a better job allround at the exact same price point.
However Filmora has taken off along a more complex path of development which is in itself fine but has caused it to somewhat abandon its original concepts of simplicity.
In my view Movavi has very much stepped into that position and is now of the best choices around for a simple, easy to use and fully featured video editing program.

Best Free Video Editing Software For PC & Mac 2023
Just checked out this video from the guys at Primal Video and to be completely honest I can’t argue with it.
Of course I am not qualified to comment on the Mac versions but as far as freebies go both Capcut and DaVinci Resolve are pretty much unbeatable.
Sure there are other reasonably good free editors out there but I just don’t see the point in searching and testing around beyond these two.
Filmora 12 New Avatar Presenter Tutorial For Beginners
This is a new feature recently added to Filmora 12 and is kind of a mechanically animated Avatar Presenter you can use in your projects.
I have tried it and if you check out the video below you can see it is still a little clunky and looks a bit amateurish.
In fairness to Filmora though they are still marking the feature as being in Beta so it may improve as they develop it a bit more.
The One Editing Tip I Wish I Knew Earlier
It is pretty obvious when you search online for tips on video editing that the vast majority of tutorials and information available is aimed at the software rather than the process.
There are endless “How to use” videos or “how to do this” or “How to do that.”
What is missing are videos and tutorials of “Why to do this” or “When to do that.”

This is just another quick tip #Short from Daniel Batal but given the fact that I use this one a lot I thought you may find it interesting.
Of course these days there are many filters you can use to improve skin tone as well as various “beauty” filters.
However the down side of many of these is that they tend to create an artificial look and often can only operate at lower resolutions.
Many cannot deal with 4K footage for example due to the enormous processing required.
Now I shoot my wife in a lot of videos and she is pretty picky about looking good on camera!
What I have found to be the best way to make her look good is to use a quite standard three point lighting setup to get pretty good quality footage in the first place.
I then color balance and correct and finally apply the tip shown in the video below.
As with most correction remember that a little goes a long way!
